The Gulf of Aqaba is one of the most popular diving destinations in the world. About 250,000 dives are performed annually in Eilat's 11 km Gulf of Aqaba coastline, and diving represents 10% of the tourism income of this area.
The Landscape of Wadi Rum to the east of the northern edge of the gulf is also a popular destination. Other touristic destinations are the ruins of the iron-age civilization of Ayla in the city of Aqaba, which was also the site of the historic Battle of Aqaba, a World War I battle, led by Lawrence of Arabia.

Debido a la cálida temperatura de la que gozan sus aguas, (oscila entre los 20 ºC en invierno y los 27 ºC en verano), y la rica variedad de flora y fauna que pueblan sus fondos, desde imponentes tortugas o tiburones hasta coloridos peces exóticos que merodean alrededor del coral, representa un auténtico tesoro submarino para los amantes del buceo.
El Golfo de Aqaba, situado al sur de Jordania, cuenta con una treintena de puntos de inmersión. El arrecife nace, literalmente, en el borde del agua y se pierde en un desfiladero submarino a pocos metros de la orilla. De tal manera que, a 100 metros de la orilla, ya nos encontramos con 50 metros de profundidad buceables. Sumergirse en Aqaba, además de una apasionante fusión con la flora y la fauna submarinas, es una experiencia notablemente sencilla; de esta manera, los novatos se sienten seguros y cómodos en estos arrecifes y los más experimentados valoran la tranquilidad del entorno. En verano es común ver tiburones ballena o mantarrayas en febrero, así como pecios en el fondo del mar.

From graceful Hawksbill turtles, to fluorescent Nudibranches, the Red Sea is home to over 1200 species of fish. There are over 20 gorgeous sites along our coastline (and if you include the Tech dive sites more than 30) most of which are located in the Aqaba Marine Park. Each dive site varies heavily in topography and vibrant marine life, completely veiled with flourishing colorful corals. It is a paradise for photographers and sea critter lovers alike.
One of Aqaba’s most famous dive sites is the largely intact wreck of the Cedar Pride, a Lebanese freighter sunk in 1985, over time accumulating an assortment of beautiful soft and hard coral, becoming the permanent home to a huge variety of marine life. Beginning as shallow as 7 meters and reaching a maximum depth of 26 meters, it provides a wreck dive that certified divers of all levels of experience can enjoy to the fullest. The Seven Sisters and the Tank are also a very popular dive destination in Aqaba. They consists of seven dramatic pinnacles and an anti-aircraft tracked vehicle (The Tank) – which provides an excellent place for a safety stop before surfacing from yet another exhilarating dive.
